K. Michelle is celebrating the success of her debut album Rebellious Soul, which enters at No. 2 this week.
Rebellious Soul, featuring the hit single “V.S.O.P,” entered in right behind Luke Bryan‘s Crash My Party with 72,000 copies sold and the No. 1 spot on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top R&B Albums charts. She is noted as having the highest debut on the Billboard 200 for a female R&B singer’s first album since March 2011 when Marsha Ambrosius held the title.
“#2 album overall on Billboard 200 and #1 R&B album!” she tweeted Wednesday. “I’m humbled and I thank my team and fans for believing and riding with me!”
Meanwhile, Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines falls 3-4 in its third week with 48,000 copies, while Jay Z’s Magna Carta… Holy Grail slides 4-6 (37,000).
Congratulations to K. Michelle on all her success!
