Posted on Jan 2 2014 - 12:45pm by GumBumping Lady (Toyiah Marquis)

Hey everybody it’s your girl Toyiah Marquis a/k/a Ms. Entrepreneurial Hustla a/k/a can’t stop, won’t stop, a/k/a GumBumpingLady… checking in from I get lots of questions from people asking me things on how to start a business, from the basics to structuring the legal entity; 501 c 3’s, trademarks, patents, marketing and much more.

Why me? Well, I have lots of knowledge on all things business because, I own and operate several. But, I’m no tax advisor, accountant or lawyer… So, if you’re looking for that kind of advice I’m NOT your girl… (lol)

There is no such thing as a typical entrepreneur. Some entrepreneurs are quiet and hard-working, while others are more outgoing and flamboyant. The key to being a successful entrepreneur lies in the ability to take an idea and then, through the process of innovation, develop it in such a way that it becomes a marketable product or service. I know many people have their thoughts set on starting a business for 2014 and what better way than to have someone motivate you and help you along the way.

Today, I’m gonna talk about the characteristics that we “special” people have… Yes, if you’re in business for yourself I’m calling YOU special. There are several characteristics that a true entrepreneur must possess. It takes a certain type of person to do what we do, so therefore, you too my friends are considered “special.”

Every week I will posting a video discussing topics that relate to starting, growing and/or owning your own business. If you have any ideas, questions, and/or suggestions shoot me an email to:

Some of the topics I will cover are:

– Branding
– What business structure should I choose?
– How to stay motivated?
– I want to work for myself, where do I start?
– Empowering yourself with knowledge…
– Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights.
And much, much, more……

Stay tuned as I give you all things business! Gumbumpers, my hope is that I can help to inspire someone to unleash their greatness, their full potential without the FEAR of failure!

Be sure to share…share…share it can help someone!

Until next time ENJOY~
